The Recognition Protocol · Seven Phases

The Recognition
Pathway

Recognition is not petitioned into existence. It is evidenced. This is the Federation's documented, phase-gated pathway from incorporation toward international recognition: the same road every recognized sport has walked, written down before we walked it.

§01The Seven Phases
✓

Incorporate the Governing Body

Complete

LSMAF incorporated as a Virginia nonstock corporation (nonprofit), the legal vessel of the sport.

✓

Build the Governing Document Corpus

Complete

Constitution, Bylaws, Competition Rulebook, Anti-Doping Policy, all F-series operational forms, Technical Committee Charter, Referee Certification Standards, and the National Rankings System.

3

Open the National Season

Active Now

Federation school and athlete registration open nationwide. Membership enrollment underway; officials certification in progress; the Team Registry open, with Founding Teams entering the record state by state; the inaugural sanctioned season (both flagship events in Connecticut) set for 2027.

4

Assemble the Activity Record

Ahead

National championships held; sanctioned regionals on the record, beginning with the LSMAF Mideast Regionals in Tennessee, March 20, 2027, followed by the LSMAF Northeast Regionals in Connecticut, June 30, 2027, and the First National Championship in December 2027; a certified officials corps; and a membership recorded in more than one country.

5

Submit the International Membership Application

Ahead

When the record supports it, the Federation applies for international membership with its complete governing documentation and competition record.

6

Compete at International Championships

Ahead

With membership in hand, Federation athletes compete in internationally sanctioned competition, and each performance is documented.

7

Seek a Place on the International Programme

The Long-Term Aim

The last step every recognized sport has taken: a petition to the international multi-sport programme, made only when the athlete base, the rulebook and the endorsements exist.

§02Precedent

New disciplines get recognized. There is a template.

Every sport now on an international program once petitioned its way there, and the sequence has never changed: governance first, national record second, international membership third, and the petition last, when the file speaks for itself.

LSMAF is walking that sequence deliberately, with the documentation built before the record it carries.

Phase 3 · The Founding Era

The file is being assembled now.

Every member enrolled, every official certified, and every sanctioned result logged in this era is a line in the evidence file. The only question is which names are in it.
